Woodspray was founded in 2003
Woodspray was founded in 2003 by business partners David Kidd and Michael Pincher, both of whom have a family history steeped in the timber industry.
David’s father Ray, and his twin brother Ken were both wood machinists at Browns Sawmills in Darlington, while Michaels grandfather Fred was often referred to as the best French Polisher in County Durham, plying his trade for Williams Pianos of Darlington and Brothertons Music Shop in
the early 1980’s
Working with wood seemed a natural course for David and Michael and they first worked together in the early 1980’s for furniture maker R.W. Toothill in Newton Aycliffe, where Davids father and uncle both held senior positions.
Finding themselves working together again in the late 1990’s at Appletree Joinery, also in Newton Aycliffe. The seeds were sown for the earliest incarnation of Woodspray.
Woodspray finally began life in a small workshop in Shildon in 2003, spraying chairs and tables for Hillcross Furniture.
